23rd Birthday

Last week I celebrated my 23^rd birthday spending the weekend in Saskatoon with close friends and an awesome birthday supper with family. To say I was spoiled is an understatement. Not only was I given some great gifts but to be able to spend time with people who are so important to me is just as valuable. To me birthday's aren't just about the things you receive, they are more about being able to spend some quality time with people who mean the most to you!

Drugstore Haul

Even though I went to the drugstore to pick up a few essentials I cannot seem to leave without picking up a few beauty products. The aisle is so bright and inviting with vibrant colours how can anyone resist wanting to take a look!

Clear Lake | 2014

My September long weekend was spent with Steven’s family in Clear Lake, Manitoba celebrating his dad's 60th birthday. Clear Lake is nestled away within Riding Mountain National Park and is one of my favorite summer destinations. What else could you ask for a beautiful lake surrounded by thick bush with a small bustling town located right in the center. On the prairies these are few and far in between so it is always nice to feel like you’ve escaped from everything when you are really only a few hours from home.

The timing was perfect as both of Steven’s brothers were able to be around for the weekend. Everyone is so busy with what is going on in their own lives that we rarely get time for all of us to be together. We were lucky enough to stay at the beautiful Elk Horn Manor*, which is located right next to the Clear Lake Golf course. If you are ever going to Clear Lake with a larger group of people and really want something beautiful, peaceful and all to yourself I would really recommend checking this place out.

Overall our weekend was filed with golfing, boating, shopping, touring the town, hiking, kayaking, eating more food and sweets than necessary, and most importantly being able to spend some quality time with everyone.

**It is a beautiful manor-style home, which was built in the 1930’s for the superintendent’s of the park. Since then it has played home to quiet a few famous guest but the most notable are King George VI, Queen Elizabeth, Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Phillip and Prince Charles. **
