New Camera

As of recently I have been looking to buy a new camera. Like everyone else I love the convenience of having a camera built into my I Phone, but to be honest the quality is just not what I’m looking for. It is good for on the go quick pictures but whenever you want to take a good quality picture it ends up slightly blurry and a little out of focus. When I’m older I want to be able to look back at good quality photos rather than ones that are just ok.
As of so far there are two cameras that have caught my attention, the Canon Power Shot S120 and the Go Pro Hero 3+. I know you might be thinking well these cameras are in two totally different categories, but I think that is what is appealing to me.

On one hand the Canon Power Shot S120 $449.99 offers the quality of a DSLR but within a compact size that is easy to throw in your purse or pocket. As I venture more and more into the blogging world I am realizing that I want to be able to take better pictures and with my I Phone I just can’t do this.

On the other the Go Pro Hero 3+ $399.99 offers the conveniences of being able to take it anywhere you go. Strap it where ever you want and instantaneously you are able to capture some amazing footage that you would not be able to get with an everyday point and shot camera. I am planning on doing some traveling in the future so this would be such a great camera as it is light weight and easy to take on the go.
Overall my main focus is quality and as Steven and I do a lot with each of our families it would be nice to capture some of those moments with a good quality camera!

If you use either of these cameras I would love to hear what you think about them!

Monday Musts #2

It has been a while since my last Monday must but since summer is on the edge of slipping into fall I thought this would be a good time to do another post. I don’t know about you but fall is definitely my favorite time of year for fashion. Don’t get me wrong, I love slipping on a floral dress but there is something about boots, scarves, leggings, and layers that get me excited for the next few months.
One style that I am really happy is transitioning over into fall is 90’s grunge because who doesn’t love a little bit of flannel in their lives. But to keep this from looking like you went back 20 years make sure to incorporate a few of these pieces with basics.

If you know anything about me I live in boots for about 8 months out of the year. Ankle, army, knee high I love them all. When I saw these grey ankle boots online I thought they would be a perfect piece for the fall and winter months. Grey usually isn’t my colour as I tend to gravitate more toward browns and blacks but something about this muted light grey stood out to me above the others. They would look so good with black leggings and an oversized sweater as well with a delicate dress. They aren’t as harsh as black which would make them easier to wear with a bunch of different outfits!

This fall I am in desperate need of a new leather jacket. The one I had previously been wearing has seen better days. The zipper no longer works and is falling apart at the seams. So when I came across this jacket on the Zara website I knew it would become a staple piece in my wardrobe. It’s a classic shape which is something I look for when buying a piece like this. You want to be able to wear it for more than one season so I like to buy things that will transition well from year to year. I also like the accent zippers on the sides as it adds an edgier touch. Overall, this is a beautiful jacket and now I just have to decide between nude or black.

If you are looking for something a little bit cheaper check out Forever 21 Faux Leather Moto Jacket its only $20.00!
#3 Nordstrom Phase 3 Floppy Wool Hat  $36.78

There are so many benefits to owing a good hat as it can really transform your outfit. I have a hat quiet similar to this and I have been wearing it non-stop lately. I don’t wear hats very often but this style of hat is really easy to wear. It is the perfect mix of casual and dressy which makes it easy to wear with a bunch of different outfits. It will keep your head warm as we head into the colder months as well as provide some coverage if you aren’t having the best hair day!

What are you looking forward to this fall?

Grateful

A week ago today I felt grateful.
Grateful for everything my life was.
Grateful for everything my life is becoming.
And grateful for having spent the last three years with my best friend.

Three years ago, our lives crossed paths at the perfect time and we fell into the whirlwind our relationship has become. It has had its up and downs, but never does a day pass that I am not thankful for what I have in front of me. Every day he makes me feel like it’s our first. He never ceases to surprise me but overall it is the warmth I feel when I am around him. Knowing that someone loves you unconditionally is such a humbling feeling. He is my best friend, my partner, the person I want to do life with.
Our day was not spent doing anything fancy. It was spent in the company of each other.
To many more years being grateful.

Love you always, Steven.

August Long

Two weekends ago my family and I went to Regina for August Long Weekend. Now if you aren’t from Canada you might not know what August Long Weekend is. But it is basically an extra day off of work so we can actually escape the office and enjoy the warm prairie sun.
If there was anything I would have liked to do this weekend, being surrounded by family was it. Being able to hang out with my sister, Sam, is always nice. We live seven hours apart but when we are together it feels as if no time has passed. If anyone know us the more time we spend together the louder we talk and there is always guaranteed to be a few “I can’t breathe I’m laughing so hard” moments. We kept ourselves quiet busy over the weekend with trips to the Regina EX, Regina Beach, and a stop at Boomers Air Park. We also made time to stop by one of my aunt’s house to see some family that was in town for the weekend. Sam's boyfriend came down for the weekend as well. I give him extra points for staying in a camper with your girlfriend's family who you have never meet. He is a really nice guy and seems to make Sam really happy which is what matters the most!
Overall August Long ended up being a great weekend hanging out with family and lounging around enjoying the beautiful weather.
Till next time,
